TRADE MINISTRY HOSTS STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT ON LOCAL UNIFORM PRODUCTION
The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, held a stakeholder engagement meeting aimed at enhancing local production and procurement of uniforms in Ghana.
The session, which took place at the Ministry was chaired by the Deputy Minister, Hon. Sampson Ahi on behalf of the Sector Minister Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu- Adjare.
The Deputy Minister in an opening remark highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting local textile and garment industries under the 24hour economy plus policy to among others create decent jobs and revenue for Ghanaians.
Presentations were also delivered by Ken Asare, Factory Manager at Akosombo Industrial Company Limited, who provided an overview of the textile sector and its challenges, and Nana Poqua Adiamah, National Coordinator of AGAM, spoke on the state and potential of the garments industry.
The engagement featured an open discussion session and concluded with key remarks by Hon. Sampson Ahi while emphasizing collaboration to boost local content and industrial growth.
