The Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has stressed that the present government is committed to put in place policies and strategies to vigorously promote the production and patronage of Made-in-Ghana products.

The Minister made the remarks when he took delivery of a “Kantanka Onantefuo” 4x4 vehicle from Kantanka Automobile, a local automobile company. He said the move is a practical indication of the Government’s commitment to supporting the thriving of local businesses.

Hon Alan Kyerematen, as part of his vision for the sector, is committed to the development of strategic anchor industries in an effort to help diversify the economy. It is expected to give rise to the emergence of strong and robust vehicle assembling plants, petrochemical and integrated aluminum industries, pharmaceuticals, palm oil as well as industrial salt architecture. He was convinced that Kantanka Automobile Company will be very critical to the attainment of this vision to help create more jobs in the country.

The Minister was full of commendations for Kantanka Automobiles for the development of local skills and new technologies. He rallied institutions to support these initiatives for them to gain international recognition.

The Chief Executive of the Company, Mr. Kwadwo Safo Jnr, noted that the company ventured into the automobile industry to help improve it and to also demonstrate that Ghanaians are capable of doing great things.
